Stop Your Headache
Discover how to drastically reduce and clear headache pain
Help Stopping HeadachesMigraine victims are constantly trying to find ways to lessen their headache pain. A vast majority of the more than 25 million headache victims in the United States are female. However, there are natural ways to get relief from migraines and bring you both immediate comfort and long-term relief. What are your other choices? Aside from vomiting or taking dangerous pain killer drugs, the only alternative most people know of is finding a cool, dark place to lay down and wait it out. And that’s about it. If you’ve ever experienced a migraine, you’re clear about what I’m saying. If you’ve had migraines for any length of time, you’ve probably developed your own routine of how to handle them. But if you’re in the market for some new techniques, here are some suggestions. Though no one knows for sure, most migraines seem to be caused by glandular imbalances, stress or tension, various foods like chocolate, alcohol and caffeine, food colorings and additives like MSG and various medications like birth control pills. If you can remove these migraine triggers, you’ll find that the frequency of your headaches drops drastically. In addition to reducing the triggers, you’ll want to start paying attention to what you’re eating. You need to aim for a good, natural whole food diet. What do you mean by whole foods? A whole food diet starts with the basics of brown rice, whole wheat and natural soy. You’ll no longer be eating white rice or pasta, enriched wheat or soy that’s been genetically modified. They offer NO nutrition and do more harm than good. Colorful fruits and vegetables – eating optimally between 5 and 13 servings daily – are also part of a healthy whole food diet. Now don’t think you can get away with things like fruit juice or those fake fruit rolls you find in the grocery store. They’re just not whole food. And, you can’t count iceberg lettuce, potatoes or bananas. They just don’t give you enough of what you’re eating the fruits and vegetables for. Now don’t worry if you eat those things once in a while, but remember that they’re not giving you the important phytonutrients that you need to be healthy. Your whole food diet should also include low fat dairy (like yogurt and cheese), free range eggs, lean chicken and fatty fish. Oily cold water fish like salmon, tuna, mackerel, sardines and anchovies are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, which have been proven to help decrease the pain and frequency of migraine headaches, no matter what the cause. If you can’t manage to get 3-5 servings of fatty fish a week, you need to include a pure fish oil supplement to your daily routine. Researchers are finding that pure fish oil has amazing natural anti-inflammatory properties. And taking fish oil supplements on a regular basis works wonders for cutting down and eliminating headaches. Some have even found taking several capsules at the first indication of a migraine actually minimizes or prevents it from happening. Get started with your whole food diet with the addition of a pure fish oil supplement and you’ll find that migraines no longer bother you. Doesn’t that sound great?
